Happy anniversary, my love

The card from my bride as we celebrate our 30th anniversary today reads:

Hold on to me, and I will hold on to you through anything and everything life brings our way.

Bring me your worries, and I’ll listen with my heart.

Tell me what you need, and I’ll do my best to give it to you.

Love me even when it isn’t easy, and I promise to do the same for you.

After all, isn’t that what love, true love, is all about?

Happy Anniversary

I am a truly blessed and lucky guy.  Happy anniversary, my love.

Although having grown up in Tucson, AZ, I’m an upper Midwestern guy at heart having spent most of my adult life in Minnesota. I recently entered the "Buick stage" of life and have migrated to Florida. This blog is an attempt to explain the deconstruction of my Christian faith and better understand what I perceive as the discordant aspects of Christianity. Things which make life more enjoyable include rough-housing with the grandkids, strong black coffee, charcoal grilling, cutting wood on a table saw, playing chess, a good orthopedic surgeon and an occasional IPA. Please feel free to poke around and comment as you wish. I welcome cordial discussion and the insights of others with a different perspective and understanding.

  1. I gave that same card to my wife on our 50th anniversary. She died in 2008, and I have not been able to locate the card. I need to know if it is a Hallmark card, and if not Hallmark, can you tell me the name of the company that did print the card. I need to contact that company who owns the Copyrights, as I am in the process of composing some beautiful music for those beautiful heart felt words on that card. So that people of all ages, all over the world, can hear those priceless words at all the wedding recepitions that they attend.

    1. I regret I don’t know where the card ended up – I know I didn’t throw it away. Still, I can’t tell you whether it was a Hallmark or who actually wrote the prose. My sympathies with regard to your wife’s death. Good luck with the music composition. Regards.

  2. wife gave me the same card on our fiftieth anniversary also! It was a Hallmark!
